However I do find interesting that making sudo pmset hibernatemode to 25 still causes the laptop to crash even with the 3rd party app open, but hibernatemode 3 and 1 seems ok. I have tried disabling any "sleep" settings I can find like power nap, or using terminal with sudo pmset disable sleep but still without certain 3rd party app open laptop still crashes. Anyway the original thread has all that information already.īut today I learned that certain 3rd party apps I use which in activity monitor shows prevents sleep are helping to prevent the computer from crashing, so my hypothesis is perhaps it has something to do with the "sleep" settings. Also worth noting the current battery is a 3rd party battery and the original diagnosis was to replace the top case but frankly it's too much money and I can't afford it. The logic board, MRI passed, and also have done like SMC PRAM reset, computer erase reset, among other things. It's worth considering that the laptop, a macbook pro mid 2017 (gosh this whole experience has made me learned this particular model is quite the problematic) has been sent to an Apple authorised reseller. This is actually like a two part "movie" to my original thread All browsers crashing my Macbook - Apple Community but due to how that thread had progressed I figured it would be better to open a new one as now my question is completely different.
